Experience With Online Communites

After conducting research toward my digital immersion research paper, I have begun to look at web communities in a new light. Before the assignment, I would rarely try to discover new online communities to explore. I would just stick to the same few websites that I have been looking at for years. After the project I have decided to venture out into the Internet, and look for other websites that intrigue me. For instance, I have started to become actively involved in Twitter, the website that I did the assignment on. I'm enjoying tweeting so much that I have started to enjoy it more than going on Facebook. The set up suits my style more and I enjoy the fact that many of my followers deal with contemporary issues that are going on in the world. I feel like Twitter is constantly keeping me in the loop regarding news. The assignment has encouraged me to look into other web communities aside from the one I'm studying. Just last night, I spent some time looking a dubstep podcast. Dubstep is of music that originated from England. It is a very new form of music and is not widely available in America. Through the podcast, I can listen to the latest DJ's and find new songs to listen to.
